Overview
The West African Angelfish, also known as the African Angelfish or Guinean Angelfish, displays a beautiful blue color with a yellow tail as a juvenile. When it reaches approximately 1? to 2 inches, the juvenile begins to change color ? the edges of the fish turn orange, and the blue color gradually fades into shades of yellow to olive green.

The West African Angelfish can grow to over a foot in length, so it requires at least a 150-gallon aquarium. It is hardy but can become aggressive, so it should be kept with other semi-aggressive tank mates. It grazes on live rock and may nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles, making it unsuitable for reef aquariums.

The diet of the West African Angelfish should include vegetable matter such as Spirulina, marine algae, meaty items, and high-quality angelfish preparations that contain sponges. Feed at least three times daily.

The Small Juvenile will display juvenile colorations, the Small-Medium will be transitioning to a young adult, the Medium will be a sub-adult, and the Large will exhibit full adult coloration.
