Overview
The adult Gray Black Angelfish, also called the Gray Angelfish, has a gray body with dusky blue polka dots and matching blue highlights on the caudal, dorsal, and anal fins. Its face is pale silvery-gray, while juveniles are black with distinct yellow stripes.
Hardy and capable of reaching up to 20 inches in length, the Gray Black Angelfish requires a 250-gallon or larger aquarium with ample live rock for grazing and hiding. It is not reef safe, as it tends to nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles.
A varied diet should be provided, including Spirulina, marine algae, high-quality angelfish preparations, and mysis or frozen shrimp.
The Small Juvenile will display juvenile coloration or may be transitioning to young adult hues, while the Medium will be sub-adult, and the Large will exhibit full adult coloration.
